Introduction

The Naltar Pass Trek is an enthralling adventure through the lush woods, alpine meadows, and majestic mountain ranges of the Hindukush–Karakoram region. The Naltar Valley, which is famous for its pine and birch woods, wildflower-covered hills, and a serene, clear alpine environment, is where the trek starts in Gilgit. You will climb via Lower and Upper Shani, gaining altitude steadily until you reach the Naltar Pass (around 4,600 meters).

Along the way, you'll get broad views of numerous mountain ranges and towering summits. By following ancient walking paths that connect various communities, the trek offers cultural richness in addition to the opportunity to experience distant settlements where languages such as Shina, Khowar, Wakhi, and Burushaski coexist. Lakes, sunlit meadows, and river valleys all offer serene campsites beneath the stars.

Despite its difficult features, such as rocky terrain and steep ascents, the journey is best suited for daring hikers with a moderate-to-good level of fitness. Because Expedition Pakistan handles all the logistics (camp setup, permits, meals, guides, and porters), you can focus on the journey, the landscape, and the experience.
