Introduction

The K2 base camp via Gondoro La Trek is one of the most adventurous and incredibly stunning trekking routes in Karakoram. It offers a stunning view of the tallest mountains and longest glaciers outside of the polar area.

The neighboring Askole and Hushe, accessible by road from Skardu, are the primary entry sites to the snow-covered 8,000-meter (26,000-foot) summits, including K2, the Gasherbrums, Broad Peak, and the Trango Towers, as well as the enormous glaciers of Baltoro, Biafo, and Trango. Skardu is currently the main tourist and mountaineering destination in the area, and as such, a substantial tourism infrastructure, including hotels and shops, has developed around it.

The mountain landscape in this region is regarded by many climbers as some of the best in the world. The Gondogoro La Trek leads to K2 Base Camp, which offers views to the northeast.
